Ingredients
For making Custard Pudding
  • Custard powder- 2 tbsp
  • Cold milk- ½ cup
  • Milk- 2 cups
  • Sugar- ½ cup
For making trifle
  • Bread slices- 8 slices
  • Cold Heavy whipping cream- 2 cups
  • Powdered sugar- 2 tbsp
  • Candied dried fruits
  • Chopped nuts
  • Pistachios
  • Melted chocolate
Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, combine custard powder with ½ cup cold milk, combine well without any lumps. Keep aside.
  2. Place a saucepan over medium heat, add milk & sugar.
  3. Combine well, let the sugar dissolve in milk.
  4. Let the milk come to a slight boil.
  5. Add the dissolved custard powder in milk.
  6. Keep stirring, cook for a few minutes.
  7. Let the milk thicken.
  8. Remove the pan from the heat, let the custard pudding cool down.
  9. In a large bowl, add the heavy whipping cream along with powdered sugar.
  10. Using an electric hand mixer, whip at high speed till soft peaks have formed.
  11. Remove the brown sides from the bread, cut the slices into diagonal shapes.
  12. On a 8-inch square dish, spread some custard pudding.
  13. Arrange 4 bread slices cut into diagonal shapes on the custard.
  14. Spread some custard over the bread.
  15. Again, layer with 4 bread slices cut into diagonal shapes.
  16. Pour the remaining custard pudding, spread evenly.
  17. Top with candied dried fruits, nuts & drizzle melted chocolate.
  18. Spread whipped cream, using a spatula evenly spread the cream.
  19. Top with candied dried fruits, nuts & drizzle melted chocolate.
  20. Chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours or longer or overnight the better.
  21. Cut into square shapes & serve on dessert plates.
