Sesame Chicken Lollipops

Crispy, crunchy, succulent, irresistible sesame chicken lollipops, YUM YUM YUM…

Have you ever wondered what part of the chicken does chicken lollipops come from? I’ve never seen chicken lollipops sold in any meat stores. I used to always think from where can I possibly get chicken lollipops. Well, the answer is they come from chicken wings. All these years I had thought that shaping up a chicken lollipop from a chicken wings is quite tedious and almost impossible for me to do. So, I never made the effort.

Chicken lollipops are served as an appetizer in most of the Indo-Chinese restaurants in India. I’ve had chicken lollipops from many restaurants. Sindoor restaurant in Trivandrum, Kerala has been my all time favorite. I used to go there just to taste their lollipops, it was crispy, spicy and fried to perfection. It was hard for me to stop with just 3 or 4 lollipops, I had always cleaned up the entire platter with so much greed. It must be clear to you by now how much I love chicken lollipops. However, in America chicken lollipops are not so famous, may be because people here die for chicken wings.

Every time my sister who lives in India, exaggerates to me about the tasty lollipops she had from the restaurants there, I used to go crazy. At times I even felt like catching the next flight and flying there just to taste some lollipops. Since then, making lollipops in my kitchen has been my biggest challenge. I must say it took a long time, in fact 4 years for me to finally give it a shot.

Yay!!! I finally made chicken lollipops! I bought a bag of chicken wings and made lollipops out of the wings. After making a few lollipops, I found out that it was way too easy to make.

While making it, I thought about others how would be craving to have chicken lollipops, but don’t quite know how to shape it from a wing. For those people, I’ve made a short video showing how to make chicken lollipops out of chicken wings. I think this video would give basic information about how to shape a lollipop from a wing.
