Apple Strudel
 
 
Ingredients
  • Phyllo Dough- 4 layers
  • Butter, melted- 4 tbsp
  • Beaten egg- 1
For Filling
  • Apple, red delicious, diced small- 3 no's
  • Brown sugar- 2 tbsp
  • Ground Cinnamon- 1 tsp
  • Raisins- 3 tbsp
Instructions
  1. Combine diced apple, brown sugar, ground cinnamon and raisins together in a bowl and keep aside.
  2. If you are using frozen phyllo dough, keep it on the counter top for few hours until it is ready to work with.
  3. I used 4 sheets of phyllo dough, you could use more if you prefer.
  4. Unwrap the phyllo dough on a wooden board.
  5. Brush the top of each dough with melted butter.
  6. Layer the dough on top of another until you have 4 layers.
  7. On the top most layer, spread the apple filling evenly as a single layer.
  8. Gently roll the dough starting from one end.
  9. Place the roll filled with apples on a baking sheet.
  10. Brush the roll with beaten egg.
  11. Preheat the oven to 350F and bake the roll for half an hour or until golden brown.
  12. Using a sharp knife cut the roll into slices and serve it on a plate.
Notes
You could use any fruit of your choice.
To make it even more delicious you could top the apple strudel with dollops of ice cream or whipping cream.
