Homemade Salsa
 
 
Ingredients
  • Tomatoes, chopped- 3
  • Onion, minced-1/2 cup
  • Green pepper, chopped- 1 cup
  • Red pepper, chopped- ¼ cup
  • Jalapeno peppers, seeded, chopped- ¼ cup or depending upon how spicy you want it
  • Garlic, minced- 2tsp
  • Tomato paste- 3tbsp
  • Cumin powder- 1 tsp
  • Cider Vinegar- ¼ cup
  • Salt- to taste
  • Cilantro, chopped- 2 handfuls
Instructions
  1. Place chopped tomatoes, onion, green pepper, red pepper, jalapeno, garlic in a sauce pan.
  2. Add cider vinegar to the veggies, heat it and let come to a boil.
  3. Simmer for 20-25 minutes until the veggies have turned tender.
  4. Add salt, cumin powder, tomato paste and cilantro to the cooked veggies and simmer for a few more minutes.
  5. Let the mixture thicken, remove the pan from the heat and allow it to cool down.
  6. You could store the cooled salsa in an air tight container and keep it in the refrigerator.

Notes
Adjust the spice level of the salsa by altering the amount of jalapeno peppers.
