  • Kelloggs corn flake crumbs or bread crumbs
  • Oil- to pan fry
  • For making burger
  • Lettuce, tomato, pickled jalapeƱos, olives, hummus or mayo, mustard, cheese and buns
Instructions
  1. Cook the potatoes in boiling water or microwave it till it's fork tender.
  2. Place a large wide pan over medium heat, add oil.
  3. Add onion, and a few pinches of salt; saute till translucent. I chopped the onions in a food processor so it was very fine.
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste, saute for a few minutes till onions turn light golden.
  5. Add ground beef, break the lumps and cook till the pink color has gone.
  6. Add garam masala, coriander powder, fennel powder, ground cumin, chili powder, ground pepper and salt.
  7. Combine well and cook for a few minutes.
  8. Break the cooked potatoes and add to the ground beef. Mash the potatoes into the beef.
  9. Add cilantro and cook for a minute.
  10. Taste and add enough salt to taste.
  11. Remove the pan from the heat and let cool down.
  12. Using your hands, combine the ground beef mixture, break any potato lumps and make it smooth.
  13. Take a handful of the mixture, make into flat patties and place it on a plate. Refrigerate the patties for 30 minutes.
  14. You could make the patties the day before, store in a plastic container and refrigerate it overnight.
  15. Take the patties out of the refrigerator, let it sit for a few minutes.
  16. Beat the eggs in a bowl.
  17. Have the corn flake crumbs or bread crumbs ready on a plate.
  18. I used Kelloggs corn flake crumbs, it makes the cutlets more crispier than the bread crumbs.
  19. Heat oil in a frying pan, add enough oil to pan fry the cutlets. If you want you could deep fry the cutlets.
  20. When the oil turns hot, dip the ground beef patties in egg first and then coat it evenly with cornflake crumbs or bread crumbs.
  21. Place the cutlets in oil and pan fry till both sides turn golden in color.
  22. Transfer to a paper towel.
  23. To keep the cutlets warm, place it in an aluminum foil pan, cover with aluminum foil and keep it in the oven till you serve.
  24. You could serve the ground beef cutlets as it is or turn that into patties for burger.
  25. Spread the buns with hummus or mayo, place the cutlet, top with lettuce, tomato olives, jalapeƱo and cheese. Serve immediately and enjoy the homemade burgers.
