Baked Chickpeas

When it comes to snacking, we all feel guilty. But what if we have some thing healthy and tasty? Chickpeas, a really good source of protein and fiber can be consumed almost everyday. If you are tired of making chickpeas in the way you always make it, here is a different way – bake them! Season the chickpeas and bake them. I couldn’t wait for the chickpeas to cool down. It was very crunchy and tasted  really good with all the seasonings. You could also give your own special touches by altering the seasonings.

Doesn’t it sound healthy? This is the healthiest way to make a snack out of chickpeas, it’s baked and not fried.

Ingredients:

  • Chickpeas cooked- 2 cans (rinsed and patted dry)
  • Olive oil- 2 tbsp
  • Paprika or chili powder-1 tsp
  • Cumin powder-1 tsp
  • Pepper powder-1/2 tsp
  • Salt- a pinch
  • Thyme, fresh or dried- 1 stalk or 1 tsp
  • Rosemary, fresh or dried(optional)- 1 stalk or 1 tsp

Instruction:

  • Preheat oven to 400 F.
  • Combine the chick peas and other seasonings together.
  • Grease the baking sheet lined with aluminum foil with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Spread the seasoned chick peas the baking sheet and bake, stirring occasionally, until golden and crisp, about 25-30 minutes.
  • After it turns crispy and golden brown, remove from the oven, let cool down a bit and start munching.
